Inside the sound.
I’ve always liked the laid-back, chill sound of California reggae-rock. There’s something about the warm grooves, deep bass, and easygoing feel that keeps me coming back to it. With Saltwater Chronicles, I wanted to try something new and explore that sound through my AI music project, Loose Terms.
The album draws on coastal life—the good times, the slow days, and the mistakes people make while figuring things out. It’s about familiar places, the people you spend time with, and ordinary days that turn into stories worth telling. There’s an easygoing feel throughout, but room for the rough edges, too: relationships get complicated, plans fall apart, and sometimes you just have to laugh and keep moving.
Musically, reggae provides the foundation, with rock guitars and touches of funk, hip-hop, and dub giving the songs room to wander. I wanted the album to feel relaxed and lived-in, with enough character to keep you listening.
I hope you’ll give Saltwater Chronicles a listen and find a few songs you want to spend some time with.
